Phoenix Within Integrative Psychotherapy

What is Psychotherapy & How it Helps

Humanistic integrative psychotherapy is a form of person-centered talk therapy. It creates a space to pause and make sense of what is happening for you, particularly when life feels overwhelming, confusing, or stuck. Many people come to therapy not because they know exactly what is wrong, but because something doesn’t feel right. You may be feeling anxious, low, emotionally overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself or others.

Therapy offers a confidential, supportive relationship where you can explore your experiences without judgement. You don’t need to have the right words or a clear goal before starting — the work begins from where you are.

For some people, current difficulties are shaped by earlier experiences, including experiences that were overwhelming or hard to process at the time. Psychotherapy supports emotional understanding and nervous system regulation, helping you feel more settled and grounded so that patterns can be noticed and responded to with greater clarity.

Psychotherapy is not about fixing you or telling you how to live your life. It supports greater understanding, emotional capacity, and autonomy, allowing change to emerge gradually and at a pace that feels right for you.

About Me & How I Work

I’m Stephanie Aprilliano, a humanistic integrative psychotherapist offering therapy in Skerries and Rush, North Dublin, and online via Zoom to adults, 18 and older.

At the heart of my work is creating a therapeutic space where you feel met, supported, and able to move at your own pace. I place strong importance on emotional safety

and on building a relationship where you feel heard and respected. Sessions are collaborative and shaped around you — your experiences, your needs, and what feels manageable in the moment — rather than following a fixed agenda.

In our work together, I support you in exploring patterns, emotions, and experiences that may be contributing to feelings of distress or stuckness. Therapy with me is not about fixing you or pushing for change before you are ready. Instead, it is about developing greater awareness, choice, and a sense of authorship in your life, so that change can emerge in a way that feels grounded and sustainable.

Some of the areas I work with are:

  • Grief
  • Neurodivergence
  • Depression
  • Trauma
  • Low motivation
  • Anxiety
  • LGBTQIA+
  • Self-esteem
  • Self-harm
  • Navigating challenges/building resiliency

Alongside psychotherapy, I also offer Reiki as a separate, optional service. Reiki can provide a calm, non-verbal way of supporting relaxation and emotional release, particularly when talking feels difficult or when experiences are held more in the body.

I began my psychotherapy training in 2021 and qualified in 2025 with DCTC in Dublin. I am currently a pre-accredited member of IAHIP. I began my Reiki training in 2020 and completed Reiki Master level in 2022.

I offer psychotherapy in Skerries and Rush, as well as online sessions. Reiki sessions are available by arrangement in Skerries only.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is an energetic stress management technique developed in Japan by Mikao Usui. It is an accepted form of complementary therapy–like acupuncture or acupressure– and helps promote relaxation, reduces stress, releases pain, and is mood boosting. Reiki supports physical and emotional healing by encouraging the body into its parasympathetic, or rest-and-repair, state. While studies indicate effects beyond placebo, Reiki is traditionally understood as working through the practitioner acting as a conduit for universal life force energy.

Testimonials

“I came to therapy extremely nervous and in a hard space in my life where I didn’t know where I was going or what to do with myself and my increasing negative emotions, thoughts and patterns. Though attending therapy over the course of a year did not solve my problems, my experience gave me a toolkit I can use when things get really difficult. I was met with compassion, no judgement and an understanding attitude that really changed the course of the journey with my mental health, resulting in me being far more capable and confident in dealing with any situations that come my way. I credit Stephanie with helping me get through college, and navigate through situations I previously could not fathom. I’m a better person for it!”
